The Scourge Of Suburbia

I’ve had to get some things done around the house before I go in for a hand operation, and writing has had to take a back seat. But here’s a bit about the warrior in our urban midst.

He wields his weapon defiantly

And advances on the foe;

Alone and sore outnumbered,

Yet he’ll bravely have a go.

Thrusting and parrying,

He steals a yard along the bank,

Until his foes gain extra wind

And threaten his left flank.

But in a flash he’s covered it

And forces them all back.

They’ll not get past him now,

He’s pressing the attack.

One by one, they all succumb;

Once again he’s shown his power.

Having swept the leaves right off his path,

 He turns off his leaf blower.
